Okay, this is a late one, but I’ll still stick it as “Friday’s” News article, since it’s still late Friday, if you ask certain people. So, we all have seen the word on Halo 3: Recon, or Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST), as the new title says. And according to Bungie, ODST is the end of the line for Halo 3 content, in terms of new games or expansion packs. A few days ago, someone from Bungie said that they had other Halo 3 projects, but today, they say, quote… We'll never say never, but currently Bungie has no plans to make new Halo 3 content beyond the release of ODST. We will, however, continue to support the Halo 3 online experience with regular updates to matchmaking playlists and wield the Banhammer as needed.
With Forge and Mythic map Sandbox we're already seeing the community stepping up to create some great new maps and gametypes that will offer more variety and longevity to the game down the road.
The future of Halo 3 online will become more and more defined by the people who will play it.So, ODST is the end of the line for Halo 3, aside from Online Multiplayer updates, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Halo 3 got a side-game, which the first two games didn’t get. Take what you can get, people, because ODST is supposed to be out in the Fall of this year, I believe. www.qj.net/Bungie-backtracks-ODST-is-the-end-of-the-line-for-Halo-3/pg/49/aid/129834
